LIVERPOOL (HOME OF THE BEATLES)

YORK HISTORIC ENGLISH CITY
The choice of places to visit and things to do in York is simply overwhelming. Explore the past and enjoy the present - it's all here within the medieval city walls. There are dungeons and castles, grand halls and houses, quaint shops and ancient pubs. Take a trip on a river cruiser, by horse and carriage, by open top bus, or just walk around the city.
MUSEUMS: There are numerous museums in York. Among them the Castle Museum displays 300 years of social history, the National Railway Museum is the largest of its kind in the world and JORVIK, - the Viking City, is a real experience of living in the Viking age 1000 years ago.
YORK MINSTER: Commenced in 1220 and completed over 200 years later, it is the largest medieval Gothic church in Northern Europe and the most spectacular building in York, dominating the skyscape with its three towers. The Minster was built over the ruins of the Roman city and fort and these 2000 year old remains can be seen by exploring the specially built underground museum below the Minster.
MANCHESTER
There certainly is nowhere quite like Manchester for its sheer exuberance, warmth and vitality. When the city threw the biggest party in the world for the XVII Commonwealth Games, millions of dazzled visitors and spectators all over the globe saw that Manchester is a city that lives for live entertainment.
LEEDS
With a huge range of shops both individual and chainstore, Leeds caters for all tastes. Visit the indoor market with its beautiful wrought iron roof and the attractive indoor shopping malls with their ornately tiled floors. Enjoy a quiet walk around one of the museums or art galleries, then rest in one of the many cafes and wine bars.
BRADFORD
Home of the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television. Five floors of interactive displays using the latest technology. Bradford is also famous for its curryhouse restaurants. |
