CANAL CRUISE
Our canals were built to transport goods but are now used for leisure. Your cruise will take you slowly and quietly through the countryside past flowery fields and through quiet woods, one of the best ways to see our nature at its best.
WHITE SCAR CAVES
The longest show cave in Britain. A spectacular natural cave in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. See underground streams and waterfalls, thousands of stalactites, and the massive 200.000-year-old Battlefield Cavern. The 1 mile guided tour takes 80 minutes, with paths and lighting throughout.
STEAM RAILWAY TRIP
The steam railway was invented in Britain and close to us are three working preserved steam railways. Each is run by volunteers dedicated to keeping this historic mode of transport alive.
KEIGHLEY AND WORTH VALLEY RAILWAY
Probably Britain's best loved preserved steam railway famous as a location for films such as the Railway Children and Yanks.
EMBSAY AND BOLTON ABBEY STEAM RAILWAY
The Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway runs between Embsay Station, built in 1888 and the new award-winning Bolton Abbey Station. The 5-mile journey through the Yorkshire Dales passes Holywell Halt, a typical rural halt station. There are picnic areas at all stations. |
